FAWCO's Region 4 (BeNeLux) regional meeting, hosted by ANC Rotterdam took place in Rotterdam from October 4-6, 2013. Approximately 30 participants joined us from the region (AWC Amsterdam, AWC Antwerp, AWC Brussels, AWC The Hague, AWC Luxembourg, ANC Rotterdam). The theme of the meeting was Collaboration: Every Accomplishment Starts with the Decision to Try. The goal was to connect members to discuss regional collaboration touchpoints such as: fundraising for the upcoming TARGET program, memberships drives, increased member participation (volunteerism), as well as sharing best practices for social media.
For the participants, Anne Morrow Lindbergh expressed it best: “Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after.” Click below for presentations, photos and videos.
The morning session was dedicated to FAWCO presentations. The afternoon session consisted of break out group discussions on club issues and an interesting presentation from AWC The Hague member Kristine Racina on her role as Director of Expatriate Archives and how FAWCO clubs might contribute as expatriate information donors. We were lucky to have such strong FAWCO representatives involved to help us define what is “possible” for Region 4 to accomplish. With the upcoming Target Program launch, it is a unique opportunity for us to collaborate on a high-level regional strategy for fundraising.
