New IRS Extended Deadlines for 2019 Tax Year 

July 15, 2020 - For filing 2019 US Tax Return (2019 tax return) and, to avoid interest and penalties, for payment of any tax due
Note:  For expatriates this means the deadline to file your 2019 tax return has been extended by one month (from June 15 to July 15)

July 15, 2020 - For filing for a two-month extension to file 2019 tax return by October 15, 2020 (Form 4868) 

October 15, 2020 – For requesting an additional two-month extension to file 2019 tax return by December 15, 2020 

For reporting foreign financial accounts, FBARs are also due by July 15, 2020, with an automatic extension until October 15, 2020.
