Layla’s Restaurant in Esher was the setting on October 1, 2014 for the AW Surrey fundraiser for Free The Girls. As people walked down the busy sidewalk, they were greeted with an array of beautiful bras hanging from the restaurant’s canopy. Those weren’t the only bras on display. The bartenders and waiters all wore bras over their uniforms and gave everyone a good giggle and got them into the spirit of the evening.
Over 80 people turned up for the event, many of them outside the AWS community. Anyone who brought 3 bras to donate was given a button which they could hand in at the bar for a free drink. FAWCO Rep, Melissa Mash, collected 225 bras at the door!
Layla’s owner and AWS member, Ashley Sanli, had wonderful raffle prizes which were drawn throughout the evening. Raffle tickets were £5 each. The proceeds from the raffle and donations totalled £700 (over $1,100).
It was and evening of live music, dancing, great food and drink and very generous donors to our FAWCO Target Program!
