Christmas 2010: Journey of the Smith Family from Dublin, Ireland
Making A Difference One Well at a time for Two Families in Cambodia
While we were in Siem Reap, our guide Piseth, had his driver take us "off the tour route" to find a family that was in need of a clean water well. Our tour guide took guests' donations and had wells built for families that were in need. These kids were home alone, as mom and dad were working the field. They had fashioned a "trap" for the foodsource of crickets. Their malnourishment was evident by their appearance, but they were still filled with smiles and playfulness. You can imagine the heaviness of my heart as we left.
Piseth found a needier family after our departure, and used the funds for a well for 2 families to share (see below).
FYI: we lived in Shanghai China for 1 yr (which prompted Cambodia travel) and related to Dublin last January.
Thanks for sharing my story about Wells for Cambodia.
