Dear Eileen, Arline and the FAWCO Committee and BWN members,

I would like to thank all of you for the terrific job selling trees for the Millennium Forest in Morocco. This was truly a wonderful New Years gift for all of us.

The AIWCC just had its monthly general meetings and many of the ladies remember Arlie from her visits to Casablanca. When I told them of the initiative and the amount raised, wild applause was the response so please pass on that on to our your members.

This project is very dear to my heart because it manages to involve individuals within FAWCO clubs, and it supports not only the environment but has a direct impact on the villagers who receive the trees. It provides them with a source of food and income and assists with soil erosion. Also, by working with Peace Corps Volunteers we not only increase accountability we are furthering cooperation between U.S. groups .

We are having our development committee meeting this week and will decide where the latest funds should be given. We also hope to visit some of the projects in the near future and will certainly share reports and photos with your members.

Again, many thanks to everyone who participated and to Arline for coordinating this project.

Best Wishes,

Cynthia Smith-Ayed

AIWCC President
